MAKEUP BY ROQUE COZETTE
Glossy eyeshadows is such a fierce look even if it's not the most friendly to wear. It does move all over the place but if you're doing any type of photography with these hot looks, it works extremely well. To achieve these looks you can use a clear lip gloss if your eyes aren't super sensitive, baby oil Gel not the liquid or MAC has a product called Gloss, which is designed to turn powder shadows to a liquid. Check your local MAC store to see if they still make this product. Rosebud makes a great sheer gloss which will work as well. You can use cream liner or cream shadow and mix with your gloss, using a synthetic brush and carefully slide or pat gently along the eyelids. If you're not a pro, you can always have this look done by an artist from MAC, Stila, Urban Decay or Smashbox. These company's have artist who are very trained in doing cool, avante garde looks such as these. It's also a great look for going out on the town on a hot Saturday night. Have fun and keep me posted!

EYEBROWS!
MAKEUP BY VAL! I used Esspresso eyeshadow and Blunt blush
by MAC in Oprah's brows.
Eyebrows can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I still see eyebrows that either look very drag queen, which is overdrawn and too dark with an exaggerated arch, or too thin and washed out. If you're unsure as to how your brows should look, seek a professional in a reputable salon. In the L.A. area Anastasia and Damone Roberts are two of the leading eyebrow specialists in the entertainment industry, however, the price tag ain't cheap, but worth every penny. There are many salons that do an excellent job in sculpting the perfect brow, so it's best to ask around and find out who does the best job in your hood. If your brows need an overhaul, the best thing to do is let them grow back in for a full two months with out tweezing or waxing. You're literally starting from scratch, however, continue to fill them in with either a soft brown pencil or brow powder with an angle brush to keep them looking fresh. After they've grown back, then have them done professionally and continue to see your technician every two weeks. If money is an issue, ask her to show you how to maintain your brows properly between visits. Cheers!!

SPRING/SUMMER MAKEUP!
Nothing like fresh makeup and these makeup artists did the damn thing and brought Fierce to another level. I love a strong fuschia lip with soft gold or yellow shadows accentuating the eyes. There are very few rules to follow when sporting this look however, the key is all in the application. What you want to do is make sure you blend your shadows carefully, and take your time in selecting colors that bring out your skin tones. If you're not sure, hit the MAC, Bobbi Brown, Stila or Smashbox counter for professional advice. Makeup artist lines such as these hire makeup artists who are very trained in choosing colors for just about any skin tone. Tell them you want to try a fuschia lip color and a soft gold or yellow shadow that best fits your personality and complexion. Have them try the colors on, go outside into the day light or wear it home and see if you can live with your new look. Get honest opinions from family and friends, but don't be afraid to step out of the box and try something new and fun. Take pictures in your new look. A strong pink lip is also pretty with green, purple and of course a soft pink eyeshadow. Plums and burgundys also work well with a fuschia lip. If a lipstick is too much for your taste, you can always try the color in a lip gloss where the pigment is softer. Go for it and keep me posted on your new look!

Just Fierce!!
I mean really?? Must she be so incredibly beautiful? And how about the makeup and lashes on top and bottom? Suzi out did herself with this makeup and if you want to get out of a rut and try something new and fun, try layering your shadows by using three or four to create a fun new look like this one. Study the placement of the colors and see if you can emulate this very cool look. It can be done in various shades of purples or greens varying from light to dark. It's summer and time to get creative with bright, fun colors. The smokey eye is always hot, but using brighter happier shades is even more exciting. Invite your friends for daily tips and ideas for new looks!

MATURE BEAUTY!
So this classice Bombshell of a Beauty was a litigant on the Judge Alex show today, Friday and I had the pleasure of meeting her and doing her makeup. She was a model back in the 70's and 80's and I would love to see some of her pictures. What I learned from her is that when you have a beautiful inner spirit, your outer beauty tends to hang tough and tight. This lady is amazing and has a very positive outlook on life. She has endured some trials that could have aged her tremendously, but with determination to overcome all obstacles, she pulled through with flying colors and is still drop dead gorgeous!
If you're a woman of a particular age and finding yourself stressing about unnecessary things that you have no control over anyway, take a step back, a deep breath, and regroup. No need in aging yourself beyond your years by looking older than you deserve. Let's all stay positive, begin or continue to take care of our inner spirits and nurture our temples.

Chocolate Beauty!!
Makeup by Sheila McKenna
As a makeup artist working in the television and fashion industry I'm still meeting models and actors of color who still complain about not having their makeup done properly, by makeup artists who haven't mastered the artistry of darker skin. With most makeup lines on the market today expanding their lines to accommodate all complexions, there is NO excuse as to why we still have makeup artists who are not educating themselves. If you're a makeup artist who fits this category, please take the time to educate and gain knowledge to perfect your skills in doing makeup for ALL skin tones, from light to dark.
Actress Nia Long
It's actually quite fun doing makeup on darker skin because the sky is the limit as to what colors you can use on the skin. We look great in bright orange, fuschia, green, yellows etc. Primary colors are our friends, and you can be as creative as you'd like. The colors you may want to shy away from are grays, silver and white. These colors tend to go a bit ash on darker skin.
Keep me posted and feel free to contact me with questions!

GLOSSY EYES!!
Makeup by Hayden
The glossy eye is sooooooooo HOT especially when doing shoots of still photography because it photographs very beautifully. I just love these two models serving two extreme glossy eyes in a rich black and soft golden orange. You can add any clear gloss to your eyeshadow to create this high fashion look, but just know that it does crease and move throughout your shoot so you have to stay on top of it and encourage your model to keep her lids relaxed until that segment is over.
It's a great street look as well or going out on the town in the eve. If you don't want to go to the extreme with this high shine, try using cream shadows and you'll get the same effect.

ROCKING TURQUOISE!!!
I did my nieces makeup for her prom and I smoked out her beautiful eyes using turquoise eyeshadow mixed with a rich navy in the crease and lash line. It's hard to believe how fast our kids are growing up but auntie Val had to come through for Ashari.
You can never go wrong with a HOT and SEXY turquoise shoe and of course YSL never disappoints with there eyeshadow pallets. With this pallet you can use the turquoise on the lids with the navy or purple in the crease and also use those rich colors as eyeliner by smudging it into the lash line. The brown can be used as a crease color as well while using the turquoise on the eyelids. The light yellow shimmer is pretty on the brow bone and swept on the upper cheek bone for a nice high light.
Turquoise has always been a very popular color that can be worn all year round. It's great in the Spring and summer with white linen and in the winter with chocolates and rich oranges. Worn as an eyeshadow you can rock this look with gold shimmer on the brow bone or smoke it out with a deep navy or black eyeliner smudged in the lash line. These images designed by very talented makeup artists, show very creative ways to wear turquoise eyeshadow on different skintones and it's all Fabulous. See if you can emulate these looks and remember, you can never go wrong by using turquoise as an eyeliner with 2-3 coats of mascara.

LAKERS MAKEUP
LEMON SUGAR SCRUBS!
Lemon sugar scrubs are so yummy for the skin, leaving it soft and supple. No need to run out and buy expensive products when you can use ingredients right in your kitchen. For the scrub all you need is:
1) 1/2 lemon
2)1 tablespoon of brown or white sugar
3)1tablespoon of water
Squeeze lemon into bowl and add your sugar and water, mix well and apply on washed skin. Massage into skin for about 1 minute and rinse well. Pat your skin dry, preferably with a white towel, follow with your toner or witch hazel and moisturize. Repeat this once or twice a week and you will notice how clear your complexion will become.
